Aap Beati – Volume 7

[Hadhrat Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Rahmatullah ‘Alayh]

Some of the students who arrived (for the Ramadhaan program – 1394) were students who had spent many a Ramadhaan in the company of Hadhrat Raipuri. Amongst them were some brothers of great calibre. The Raipur attendants often asked them why their Sheikh had still not given them Ijazat. By remaining in the company of Hadhrat Raipuri, they reached even greater heights. Due to what they heard from these people, they started considering themselves to be ‘something’. That was very destructive. The secret of this art is that, as long as a person considers himself to be nothing, he will be successful. However, the moment he starts to consider himself as being great, he will never succeed. This is a fact that I have experienced many times in my life amongst the attendants and mureeds of my Elders.

I remember one of Hadhrat Madani’s answers to me. In a rather sharp tone he said: “Who is there that enters people into Bay’ah because he considers himself to be capable? Everyone who considers himself as competent is in fact incompetent. The successful ones are those who look upon themselves as being incompetent.”

Sunnats of Ghusl

  1. It is a major wrong to delay the ghusl of Janabat until after sunrise as the angels of Mercy do not enter such homes where a person (male or female) delays the Fardh ghusl (compulsory bath). [Mishkat]

For that reason it is necessary to hasten in performing ghusl if one awakens after subh sadiq (true dawn). [Tirmidhi] This should be done so that fajr salaah can be read with jamaat.

  1. Wash both hands thrice with the intention of cleansing yourself of Hukmi Najasat.

  2. Any Najasat (filth) found on the rest of the body should then be washed off.

From  Tadhkiratul Rashid

[Biography of Imaam Rabbani Maulana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi]

Hadrat Maulānā rahimahullāh was speaking about Muftī Sadr ad-Dīn Sāhib when he said: “When he was on his death bed and was afflicted by paralysis, he was completely overcome with fear of Allāh I and would cry continuously. If anyone went to visit him, he would say: ‘Brother, I spent my entire life in committing harām. It was only through my knowledge that I could influence people. In such a case, how will I get salvation?’ He would say these words and cry spontaneously. If any person recited any verse of glad tiding to him to console and calm him, he would say: ‘Yes, I am also aware of all this, but there are many opposing verses which issue severe warnings’.”

Sayings And Anecdotes Of The Auliya

  • Maalik Bin Dinaar Rahmatullah ‘Alayh has given us much to ponder upon. He said:

“A companionship which will be of no benefit on the Day of Qiyaamah is futile”.

“A man, who indulges in idle conversation and remembers Allah little, lacks knowledge. His heart is blind. His life is ruined.”

  • Hadhrat Muhammad Waasi’ Rahmatullah ‘Alayh once said:

“A Saadiq (true saint) is not a perfect Saadiq as long as his fear and hope are not equal. (There should be neither a deficiency nor excess in these attributes. A perfect balance between the two is necessary. Excess or deficiency leads to transgression of the limits.)

  • Once Hadhrat Imaam Shaafi Rahmatullah ‘Alayh and Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hambal Rahmatullah ‘Alayh met. While they were conversing, Habib Ajmi Rahmatullah ‘Alayh appeared on the scene.

Imaam Ahmad said to Imaam Shaafi: “I shall ask him something.” Although Imaam Shaafi discouraged Imaam Ahmad, the latter asked Habib Ajmi: “If a person has missed one of the five salaats (and cannot remember which one), what should he do?”

Habib Ajmi replied: “He should repeat all five salaats because he was forgetful and disrespectful to Allah Ta’ala.”

Imaam Shaafi told Imaam Ahmad: “I told you not to question him. These people who have reached Allah Ta’ala have a different approach.”

Arab Israeli War

Excerpt from Aap Beati – Volume 7

by  [Hadhrat Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Rahmatullah ‘Alayh]

On the 26th of Ramadhaan, news reached us of the Arab-Israeli war. Maulana Binori immediately decided to have a Bukhari khatam the following day. I could not see how that was possible.

I asked: “Where will you find readers for the Bukhari khatam? Where will you get the Paarahs?”

He replied: “There is a very large group of Ulama in Itikaaf this year. The majority of them are with you and a few are with me.”

I was still unconvinced, although I had heard that a very large group of people had come from various parts of the world because of my presence in Madina Munawwara. However, I never thought that there were so many Ulama amongst them.

Maulana Binori promised to organize the Paarahs. He sent some people to gather Paarahs from various Madrasahs since early that morning. I was completely surprised when the khatam started at four o’clock. By six o’clock (Madina Munawwara time) the khatam was completed. Salaah commenced at 5.30. After the khatam, Bhai Abdul Hafeez led the du’a. I believe it was due to the blessings of Maulana Binori that, that very same evening, it was announced over the radio that the war had ended.
