The Deception of Shaitan

Shaitan does NOT attack one is who is far from Allah. Hence, the one going to discos, movies, etc. is less under attack. After all, that person is already heading on the slippery path to hell. So why does shaitaan need to put his efforts on such a person.

Rather, shaitaan puts his efforts on the one who is getting closer to Allah, closer to Jannat and further away from hell. In this regard, shaitaan tries very hard to sow seeds of doubt and confusion in the hearts of those who start making zikr earnestly. Why does he do this? When a person makes Zikr, then Shaitan runs away from him as is explained in the Hadith.

Some Common Doubts that Shaitan Uses

Shaitaan sometimes whispers doubts in our hearts. At other times he will uses friends, family and even scholars of deen to sow doubts in our heart. We have to be very CARFEFUL. If such a doubt occurs, then we need to clear the doubt by asking a specialist in the field. If a person has a heart problem, he will not turn to a top lawyer (no matter how good the lawyer is) but will go to a heart specialist. Similarly when a person needs clarity regarding zikr, bay'ah and tassawuf, then he should go to his Sheikh who is an expert in the field to clear his mind.

Deception #1: Is Bay'ah a Sunnah?

People raise objections to many practices of the masha'ikh such as taking bay'ah, even though bay'ah is deeply rooted in the Quran and the Sunnah. In Surah Mumtahana, Allah I says:

(O Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam),), when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor will they steal, nor will they commit unlawful sexual intercourse, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is right - then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Virtues of Thikrullah (Remembrance of Allah)

Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam said that Allah Ta’ala says:

I am with My servant’s thoughts regarding me and I am very near to him when he remembers Me: If he remembers Me in his heart (in solitude), I also think of him is solitude. If he remembers Me in a gathering, I also remember him in a gathering better than his (i.e. a gathering with the angels).”

Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Should I mention a deed which is the best of deeds ... one that is very virtuous according to Allah Ta’ala ... one that will elevate your position ... one that is better than spending gold and silver in Allah Path ... one that is better in virtue than fighting your enemy (in Jihad) wherein you kill your enemies and you, yourself become martyred at their hands?”

The Sahabah Radiyallahu Anhum replied: “Why not, Oh Prophet of Allah? Do mention it to us!”

Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “The remembrance of Allah (i.e. Thikrullah).”

Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam is reported to have said: “There is no charity better than Thikrullah.”

Durood Count Project

What is the Durood Count Project?

It is a project to encourage you, your family & friends to recite as much durood as possible. Every Friday send us the Total Durood read by you & your family for that Friday.

The Hadith says, "Allah's hand is over the group."[Sunan Tirmidhi]. We have noticed families who had started a Friday durood count of about 3000 now consistently sending in 15000 or more recitations of Durood (Salat alan Nabi Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam) every Friday.

Why Read Durood?

Allāma Sakhāwī (may Allāh have mercy on him) has narrated on the authority of Sayyidunā Abū Hurayra (RA) that the Noble Prophet Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam said, “Whoever confers ten blessings upon me, Allāh will confer one hundred blessings upon him. Whoever confers one hundred blessings upon me, Allāh will confer one thousand blessings upon him, and whoever confers more due to love and devotion, I shall intercede for him on the Day of Judgement and be a witness for him.”

The Noble Prophet Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam said, “Whoever confers one blessing upon me, Allāh confers ten blessings upon him, forgives ten of his sins and elevates his status tenfold.”
